Computing at FCJA

Our Computing curriculum equips children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Through practical and engaging lessons, pupils develop computational thinking, digital skills and an understanding of how technology works, while learning to use it safely and responsibly.

Across Key Stage 2, children build on their prior learning through programming, computing systems and networks, data and information, and creating digital media. They have opportunities to programme, edit photos and videos, create digital content, explore networks, collaborate online and use technologies such as iPads, laptops, Tinkercad and micro:bits.

We use Teach Computing and Oak Academy resources to support our curriculum, ensuring children experience a broad range of practical, relevant and purposeful Computing activities. Online safety and responsible digital citizenship are embedded throughout, enabling our pupils to become confident, creative and responsible users of technology.
